GALESBURG - A Galesburg woman was arrested Monday after verbally abusing a restaurant manager about a sandwich.
Police were called at 10:58 a.m. to Hardees, 913 E. Main St., after a report of a woman causing a disturbance at the drive thru. Police asked the 29-year-old driver what had happened. The woman said she placed an order at the drive thru and it was wrong. When she tried to talk to employees about the problem, she said she got no where with them so went inside the business where she was confronted by the manager. The woman said she only started yelling when the manager made a racial comment about her.
The manager told police the woman has caused several problems at Hardees in the past and started yelling while she was in the drive thru. She said the woman then entered the business and continued yelling. The manager and witnesses said the driver was using vulgar language and called the manager a "f***ing white honky."
The woman and a female passenger who had been previously fired from Hardees are now banned from the fast food chain. The driver was charged with disoroderly conduct and given a notice to appear in court.
The police report did not indicate what was wrong with the woman's sandwich.
